More Green Gorge

Last Tuesday I made it out to the Gorge again. It's such a wonderful time of year that I need to get out there at least a handful of times in Spring. We are truly fortunate to live very close to this paradise. It stayed overcast almost the whole day which works well for this type of photography. Here are a couple of my favorites.

Lacey & Tavin

Molly did a recent session with Lacey and her little newborn Tavin. He was such a small cute little guy, barely a month old. He even was kind enough to nap towards the end of the session, something we don't always get but sure makes for nice images when we do. Here are some of our favs from the session.

Green, Green and More Green!

If you have not hiked up into the Columbia River Gorge before then you almost wonder if it's really this green. Simply put, yes! Spring is the best time when all the trees and foliage start blooming. I do feel very fortunate to live very close to such an amazing landscape. The streams and falls to explore are almost endless.

Last Thursday I headed out with three other professional landscape photographers Marc Adamus, Zack Schnepf and Jeremy Cram for some exploring in the Gorge. We went to some areas not seen or traveled much if at all by human traffic. Really amazing some of the places we came across. Here are a few images. The photographer in the one image is me. A rare out in the field portrait you will find of me on this blog. Zack took it too show the scale of this lush greenery, which it did very well.

Gotta Love Bubbles

We all know kids love bubbles, and many of us adults do too. Who can resist the urge to grab at or poke a bunch of bubbles coming at you? Not many of us that is for sure. This is was the first session in a quite a while that we used them and boy was it a lot of fun. Molly really got them going and Jack really enjoyed them as they made for some great photos. Here is a few photos from Jack's one year session. What a handsome little fellow!

Final Photo Contest Update... The Winners!

Well, truly all the children are winners. We worked to capture some great expressions of all those that participated. In the end though the top three expressions have been chosen. The voting took place last week at Spoiled Rotten. As a reminder we (Molly and I) did not vote. All voting was from the participating family, whomever they asked to go vote and other SR customers. Remember, this was not a cutest kids contest. We focused on expressions thus the name Extraordinary Expressions Photo Contest. As you will see we did have a tie for 3rd place. THANK YOU again to all of you that came in for the session and particpated in the contest. We truly enjoyed it!

Tate and Zane

The Moore Family was one of our first clients several years back. We first photographed Tate when she was only 6 months old. Now a little girl at age 3, it's been amazing with all the sessions to watch her grow over time. And now with the new baby Zane we have even more great moments to capture of the Moore Family. We appreciate them coming to us in the beginning and continue to return. All their sessions have been a lot of fun. Not to mention all have been on location at their home which is a great source of natural light. We love photographing there. Here are some from the session we did in May.

Extraordinary Expressions Photo Contest

Spring In The Gorge

Yesterday morning I took some time to see how things are looking in the Columbia River Gorge this Spring. If you have not been there during this time of year I highly recommend it. It's definitely on the tail end of the spring flowers but they are still out there. Here are three images from my outing. They include the orchards in Hood River Valley, Ponytail Falls, Ruckel Creek and blooming flowers at Rowena.
